About Pickford & Dyche

Pickford & Dyche is a small, family business created by partners, Chris and Jen.  Based in Liverpool but serving the wider Merseyside and Greater Manchester regions, they work together to provide a wholly bespoke service for their clients, delivered through a highly professional, friendly and personal approach.

Chris is a skilled craftsman in all areas of joinery, with a clear passion for creating one-of-a-kind furniture pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and practical.  With a keen eye for detail and the ability to think outside of the box, Chris uses his creativity to create beautiful furniture that enhances your home perfectly. With more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, he has designed and produced thousands of high-quality pieces, ranging from bespoke fitted cabinetry to beautiful stand-alone items created with a specific purpose in mind. Jen works behind the scenes, planning each project meticulously and helping clients to bring their ideas to life, visualising their projects through inspiration imagery and creating 3D graphics ahead of each commission.

How we work

If you like what you see on our website or socials and think you’d like to work with us, drop us a message.  We’ll ask you for some initial information that will help us to give you an indicative cost, including a photograph of the space and approximate dimensions of the piece you’re hoping to create. This is also an opportunity for you to provide ideas and any inspiration pictures you’ve found when doing your research.

If you’re happy to proceed based on the estimated price, we’ll arrange a face-to-face visit where we’ll discuss the project in more detail and take exact measurements to enable us to finalise the quote. All prices include spray finishing & installation. To proceed, we’ll ask you to secure your commission with a 25% deposit, and we’ll get to work on the planning process. This will include providing you with an idea of timescales and draft drawings to help you to visualise the final result, which can be amended at no additional charge. Prior to the build in our workshop, we’ll contact you to finalise the design and make any adjustments, confirming smaller details including paint colours, handles, finish etc and taking further measurements if required.  At this point, we also ask for a further instalment of 25% of the total price, with the remainder due on completion of the project.  Larger, more detailed projects may be completed in phases, requiring adjustment to the payment schedule, but this will be determined and agreed during the project consultation.

For installation, we require a parking space outside and clear access throughout the property. Most building work is completed in our workshop, minimising disruption to your home.  Naturally, the installation may generate some dust, but we use a trade-quality dust extraction hoover to leave your home tidy when the project is complete.
